FEATURES
Sensor
The sensor delivers over 15 stops of dynamic range and is engineered to exceed the BT.2020 color space, which is broader than the DCI-P3 color space. This allows for the creation of exceptional images with a camera that is already ahead of future industry standards.
Full-Frame Sensor
The VENICE 2's full-frame sensor allows you to capture widescreen 2.39:1 or large-format images with its full 6048-pixel width. Full-frame recording requires a firmware upgrade and license, and it also supports Super35 formats for 17:9 or 16:9 aspect ratios.
Built-In ND Filters
A servo-controlled, 8-step ND filter system offers a wide range from Clear (no ND) to 0.3 (1-stop) through to 2.4 (8 stops). This provides flexibility for remote shooting on drones, cranes, or in underwater housings.
Dual-Base ISO Sensor
The VENICE 2 features dual-base ISO with Base ISO2500 and Base ISO500. The higher Base ISO2500 excels in low-light, high dynamic range situations, offering a total of over 15 stops of exposure latitude from +5 stops to -10 stops under 18% Middle Gray.
No Jello Effect
Thanks to the VENICE 2's fast sensor readout, the typical "jello effect" seen with CMOS sensors is significantly reduced, ensuring smoother, more stable footage.
PL Mount
The camera comes with a standard PL lens mount compatible with both Super35 and full-frame PL lenses, including spherical and anamorphic. It also includes contacts for Cooke /i Technology, recording lens metadata frame by frame.
E-Mount
Removing the PL mount reveals the E-Mount, which supports E-Mount lenses. The lever lock system allows for easy lens attachment without rotation, securing the lens firmly and reducing play. This feature saves time on set, as lens support rigs often don’t need to be removed. A firmware update is required for full E-Mount functionality.
